Czech Republic picks design for commemorative note

The Czech National Bank has held a competition for the design of the new commemorative 100-korun banknote which should be issued in 2019. The note commemorates the founding of Czechoslovakia in 1919 and the introduction of the korun as the national currency.

All in all 15 artists, who submitted a total of 17 graphic designs, participated in the competition. The first prize and recommendation for realization was won by designer Eva Hašková for an excellent artistic level, mastering the specifics of the banknotes, a concise portrait and the beautiful harmony of both sides of the proposed note. The bank’s board confirmed on 1 March 2018 the decision to use this design in the note to be issued next year.

I think they chose wisely.
