Bolivia issues new 50-boliviano note

The Banco Central de Bolivia has introduced the third banknote of the new family of banknotes which started with the 10-boliviano note back in April 2018. Every three months a new denomination will be issued and on 15 October the 50-boliviano note got the spotlights. The new notes are printed by Oberthur Fiduciare SAS who won the tender last year.

The front of the violet note shows the fortaleza de incallajta, or Incan fortress Inkallaqta. We can also see José Manuel Baca, Bruno Racua and Pablo Zárate Willka. The back of the shows the extinct stratovulcano Nevado Sajama, the highest peak of Bolivia. There is also an image of the quinua real and of the Andean Flamingo
